Better, updated version of the Blue Mermaid Pullip. My sister took a fancy to the half-done version I had on my shelf, so I spruced her up and rehomed her for a birthday present. :) (It took so long... ;A;)

She wears multiple layers of alterable clothing, inspired by foreign and vintage clothing. Most of the various belts she wears are based on old Han Chinese belts (image search "Hanfu Belt" to see some of them) and her flowing over-robes are based on a type of Heian-era Japanese garment called a "hosonaga", which was worn by princesses over junihitoe (old court 12-layer-kimono.) Her hairstyle is *LOOSELY* inspired by the manga art of "Mermaid Panic"- which I've never read and know next-to-nothing about, but it has cute artwork online. ^^;;;; (/fail) The lowest layer of her costume is inspired by 1920's American "flapper" costumes. Her jewelry is ROUGHLY inspired (and I do mean, ROUGHLY!!) by ancient Middle Eastern, Greek and Egyptian jewelry. (ROUGHlY!!) The crown is totally European, and doesn't really fit in with the rest, but it was about the right color, cost under $1 USD and I didn't want to research + make yet another thing. >__>; I really should have gone for something more ancient and Asian-looking, though, because I tend to associate mermaids with ancient Asia + the Middle-East for no particular reason beyond the legends of Otohime and Atlantis... It's just my own personal quirk.

The various layers of her outfit ard kind of mix-and-match, with numerous tops and skirts, etc... (Even the tail, based on an old Barbie tail, can be raised up into a skirt.)

The doll is originally a Hatsune Miku Pullip (with a stock faceup). Most of the stuff she wears (including the crown, which came from a cheap party favor set(!!)) comes from Walmart, but her tights are from Coolcat Collection (note: excellent seller, although it takes so long to arrive! ;A; ) and her shoes are painted-over red Obitsu-brand high-heels; I believe I bought the from Princess Tapi(??) or maybe Mimiwoo. The wig she wears is from Mimiwoo on Ebay, but I got it a long time ago and they're sold out. ^^; (Unfortunate, because it really is a lovely wig.) She's on a 25cm sb obitsu body, and her eyes are hand-painted 12mm Animal Eyes from CR's Crafts. The mermaid tail pattern is based on an old mermaid tail from a Barbie I've had forever (at least 15+ years? ;A;) but the idea to use the sequin-y fabric to make one to match her costume was inspired by this doll belonging to TrueFan. Using sequiny fabric really beats having to hand-sew hundreds of tiny seqiuns on. ;A;

The undersea palace in the background is... A long story. But basically cobbled together from randomish Walmart finds, and I plan to post a tutorial (or at least some pictures) later on.

Anyway, the doll is rehomed and sis is happy. Good. :)
